Music

I have been writing music since about 1993, when I had an Atari STE and a mod tracker program. Back then, my attempts were rather unsuccessful, but good practice. In 1997 my poor Atari broke down, so I bought myself a PC and a Yamaha MU-80 tone module and did  loads more (slightly) better stuff. Then I bought a new, Athlon based PC and an SW1000XG sound card, which really allowed me to write stuff as I want it rather than having to work within the limits of the hardware. In the last few years, the hardware has become irrelevant as everything can be done in software with virtual instruments and effects.

You may do with these songs as you wish, but please leave my name attached, and also, please do not distribute them, but distribute the address of this site instead.

I am not sure how to classify these songs, I can just say that they are each very different. None of them have names, and all of them are instrumental, due to my inability to persuade anyone to sing for me.

They have been encoded in VBR (variable bit rate) MP3 format. Some software will report the length of the file incorrectly, but they will play properly. They are all compressed to a rather low quality to keep the file size down. If you want higher quality versions then I can supply CDs for a reasonable cost.

You may need to right-click on the links and choose 'save as' to download them.

Additionally, almost the entirety of my music from 1997 on, can be found on the eDonkey network. I recommend that you use the eMule client rather than eDonkey itself. It may be a little slow since I will (at least at first) be the only source and I have limited upload bandwidth (stingy asymmetrical cable connections!), so persevere.
